NEW AVENGERS (2004) (#1-64) (MARVEL) #8 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: New Avengers (2004) #8
"The Sentry Part 2" "Alien Agenda" is written by Paul Jenkins and Brian Michael Bendis with art by Sal Buscema, Steve McNiven and Mark Morales. Was the Sentry the Marvel Universe's mightiest hero or merely the creation of a comic book writer's imagination? The evidence is contradictory. Comic book writer Paul Jenkins claims to made up the character as a blue and gold super-man, secretly Bob Reynolds, who fought Skrulls and other menaces in the 1960s. But the Avengers have seen the incredible power Reynolds actually possesses. S.H.I.E.L.D. had Reynolds imprisoned on the Raft, a superhuman containment facility, for killing his wife. But his wife appears to be still quite alive.

As the Sentry, Reynolds recently helped the New Avengers put down a violent jailbreak on the Raft. But then he disappeared leaving the Avengers with many questions. They find Reynolds huddled in a cave in the desert and try to convince him to come out and solve the puzzle of his existence. But instead, Reynolds retreats further into his fantasy that he possesses no superhuman powers and disappears once more. When the heroes track him down at his New Jersey home, Reynolds warns that their meddling will release his greatest enemy; the Void! Meanwhile, Spider-Woman, Wolverine, Luke Cage and Spider-Man put a collar on the rampaging Wrecker and our heroes learn about Spider-Woman's hidden, secret power!
