MARVEL UNIVERSE: THE END (2003) #5 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Marvel Universe: The End (2003) #5
"Omnipotence" is written by Jim Starlin and drawn by Starlin and Al Milgrom. Guest-starring nearly every super-being in the Marvel Universe! Thanos, having absorbed the power of the Heart of the Universe and defeated the Celestial Order and its agent Ahkenaten, is now omnipotent and omnipresent. But he is not happy. Sensing the cosmic threads that hold the multiverse together are unraveling, Thanos contemplates scrapping this reality and starting all over. The source of this entropy can be traced back to the mysterious resurrection of Wonder Man (introduced and killed in Avengers #9 and brought back to life in Avengers #152). From that event on, Thanos realizes, the rules of life and death were forever broken and many, many more super-beings enjoyed new lives after dying.

While the Titan contemplates how best to destroy the universe and remake it, he is challenged by Eternity, the personification of all there is. To his aid, Eternity calls on the Living Tribunal, the cosmic arbiter of justice. And just above Thanos' head suddenly appears nearly every super-hero Marvel has ever created (represented here in two glorious 2-page spreads showcasing Starlin's mastery of style). The fate of the universe is about to be decided in the grandest style - by battle royale! Hang on to your hats, true believers!
