MARVEL SPOTLIGHT (1979) (#1-11) (MARVEL) #9 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Marvel Spotlight (1979) #9
Starring Captain Universe. "The Mystery of Mister E!" is written by Bill Mantlo and illustrated by Steve Ditko. The Uni-Power once changed the life of an ordinary husband and father named Ray Coffin (see Micronauts #8) with spectacular effect. Now years later, Ray still regales his wife and son with stories of how glorious that power felt. Yet as awe-inspiring as that experience was, Ray remains a humble man, devoted to his family and committed to the ideals of common decency.

Not so with the enigmatic Mister E, a shadowy alien with designs on the new solar-powered space shuttle. This nefarious creature of darkness seeks to enslave all of the workers and engineers of NASA's Cape Canaveral base to convert the shuttle into a weapon for turning the Sun black, plunging the Earth into perpetual darkness. To counter this threat, the Uni-Power needs a champion. But instead of turning to Ray, who has suffered a heart attack, the cosmic force makes a super-hero out of Steve, his courageous teenage son!
