KICK ASS (2008) (#1-8) (MARVEL ICON) #1 DIRECT CUT - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Kick Ass (2008) #1
Premiere issue. Written by Mark Millar with art by John Romita, Jr., and Tom Palmer. Ever want to be a super-hero? Of course you did or you probably wouldn't be reading comics. But most of us gave up on the idea of putting on a costume and fighting crime by the time we reached 12 years old. Not Dave Lizewski. An average high school student with average looks, average smarts and no social life to speak of, Lizewski just knew he was destined for greater things; for the thrill and adventure that being a super-hero could bring. But what does it take to be a super-hero?

Dave had no radioactive insect bites, or accidental exposure to gamma radiation and neither did he inherit godlike power from his father or invent high-tech armor. Instead, all he had was determination, some sewing skill and access to the school gym. Convinced that he could start small and work his way up to bigger crime, Dave dons a home-made costume and tries to stop a group of graffiti artists. Big mistake. Now he's lying in the street, bleeding from a knife wound and suffering from multiple broken bones from being hit by a car. This is an origin story?
