I, ZOMBIE (2010) #1 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: I, Zombie (2010) #1
Premiere issue. "Dead to the World" is written by Chris Roberson and drawn by Mike Allred. The movie and TV series Twilight, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the Vampire Diaries and True Blood have given us a resurgence in the popularity of teen horror and with this new offering from Vertigo, writer Roberson (Jack of Fables, House of Mystery) and artist Allred (Madman) we enter even more bizarre territory. Gwen, a gravedigger by profession, leads a very interesting un-life and her surroundings provide a complete inventory of weirdness to match.

Murdered '60s-era girlfriend ghost? Check. Loveable and loyal shape-shifting dog boy? Check. Sexy vampire chicks running a night-time paintball game? Check. Shifty and shadowy assassins lurking around each corner? Check. It's all there, except for any explanation of how Gwen got to be the way she is; a flesh-eating zombie that is. Each night, Gwen must uncover the corpses she just buried to chomp on their brain matter or else fall into the whole drooling, empty-headed, arms out straight ghoul mode. But eating brains comes with a price: the voices of the dead stay in her head and drive to do some really crazy things!
