Plot Synopsis: Hulk (1962) #148
"But Tomorrow .. The Sun Shall Die!" is written by Archie Goodwin and drawn by Herb Trimpe and John Severin. Guest-starring Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. Is Bruce Banner and his green-skinned alter ego, the Hulk, never meant to know peace and happiness? Project: Greenskin, a military base located in the middle of the American Southwest desert, is being built with one objective in mind: neutralize the Hulk. But at the same time as steel girders are being put in the ground, the project leader Gen. "Thunderbolt" Ross is negotiating a way to make the whole thing obsolete. Dr. Peter Corbeau, a college roommate and colleague of Banner's, has come up with a way of tapping the power of the Sun through his newly launched Starcore orbiting space station to strip the gamma radiation from the Hulk, making him forevermore just Robert Bruce Banner.

The first step is to locate and subdue the Hulk which the air-strike team of Ross' Hulkbusters achieve quickly and admirably. Then, as the Hulk lies strapped to a table, Starcore beams down concentrated solar energy into his immensely powerful body. The process works and the Hulk is no more! Meanwhile, in a microcosmic dimension familiar to long-time Hulk readers, the lovely green-skinned warrior princess Jarella asks her sorcerers to send her to Earth to retrieve her lover, the Hulk (who had the mind of Banner when last there). Her goal is to defeat the exiled villain Visis. But even as she makes the incredible journey, Visis sends an assassin after her. Just when Jarella is reunited with Banner, Corbeau realizes her presence on Earth and the previous treatment of the Hulk may soon cause the Sun to go super-nova, destroying Earth. And as the assassin strikes, Banner knows only the Hulk can save her!
