Plot Synopsis: Hulk (1962) #128
Guest-starring the Avengers. "And in This Corner...the Avengers!" is written by Roy Thomas with art by Herb Trimpe. The incredible Hulk is trapped underground after being lured miles beneath the Earth by Tyrannus and his robotic creation, the super-strong Mogol. Now, the Hulk plows his way across the U.S. through the Earth's crust, creating havoc from New York to San Francisco.

Because the Hulk's subterranean trek is coming dangerously close to the San Andreas Fault, Gen. "Thunderbolt" Ross knows he has to act quickly. He puts in a call to the Avengers, expecting to recruit Iron Man, Thor and Captain America to his cause. But instead, Ross gets the newest line up of Avengers: the Vision, the Black Panther, Quicksilver, the Scarlet Witch and Goliath. Untested as a team and lacking the sheer firepower of the original Avengers, these heroes nonetheless muster the bravery and the skill to stop the Hulk from inadvertently destroying California!
