HULK (1962) (#1-6, #102-474, #600-635)(INCREDIBLE)(MV) #121 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Hulk (1962) #121
First appearance of the Glob. "Within The Swamp, There Stirs...the Glob!" is written by Roy Thomas and drawn by Herb Trimpe. Ever since the Heap, comics have been replete with swamp monsters usually created by some combination of sorcery and science and dripping with muck and menace. After the Heap, there was DC's Swamp Thing and Marvel's Man-Thing. But before either of them, there was the Glob!

When the Hulk accidentally collides with a missile launched from Cape Canaveral, the green behemoth injures his leg and finds he can't jump. Landing in a nearby swamp to nurse his wounds, the Hulk muses that at least he's away from "the puny humans" who have made his life miserable since his "birth" in the heart of a gamma ray bomb blast in the American Southwest desert. However, the Hulk's accidental spilling of radioactive waste into the swamp waters gives birth to another type of monster, a dripping pile of ooze that can only be called the Glob. And old goop-for-guts has got his sights set on Betty Ross!
