HAWKMAN (2002) (#1-49) (DC) #8 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Hawkman #8
"Small Talk," guest-starring the Atom is written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Rags Morales. The friendship between Hawkman and the Atom harkens back to the days when they were both inducted into the Justice League at nearly the same time (Justice League of America #14 and #32). Through many cases, the Aerial Ace and the Mighty Mite teamed up (even sharing a monthly comic title for a time. See Atom and Hawkman #39). But as menacing as any of their foes were, just as daunting at times can be the ups and downs of growing older in the superhero life. Ray (the Atom) Palmer and Carter (Hawkman) Hall sit down at a quiet restaurant to catch up on each other's lives and find much has occurred.

The Atom has had his age reversed and gained a youthful appearance while retaining his maturity and knowledge. For a time, he rejoined the Justice League and then the Teen Titans. Now back with the JLA he recalls how Hawkman left the Justice Society to help train the fledgling League. But that was at least one reincarnation ago for Carter Hall. And then there's Kendra, the new Hawkgirl, who carries the life essence of Carter's love, Shiera Saunders. Can the woman who doesn't remember any of Shiera's emotions love Carter once more? Can she feel anything until she's avenged the death of her parents? In pursuit of that justice, Hawkgirl finds herself in an airborne struggle with a minor villain named Warwhip who may have a clue vital to the case. But will death rob Hawkgirl of her chance at the truth?
