GRENDEL (1986) (#1-40) (COMICO) #6 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Grendel (1986) #6
"Challenge the Devil" is written by Matt Wagner and drawn by the Pander Brothers and Jay Geldhof. You gotta love the '80s: big shoulders, pointy hair, angular androgynies and a fascination with everything Japanese. Even so, writer Wagner manages to keep this storyline of the futuristic avenger of wrongs intact while swimming through a sea of highly stylized artwork.

The plot is pretty thick as well with lots of sexual tension mixed in with double-dealing and double-crossing. Ginny gets cross-examined by Argent and Wiggins but professes to know nothing. Yet after being let go, Ginny travels straight to San Francisco where she knows Chris is holed up. Meanwhile, Chris is telling Brian everything about Tujiro's plans to kidnap him when the Kabuki killer and his side-kick Niccolo break in to seal the deal!
