GREEN ARROW (2001) (#1-75) (DC) #26 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Green Arrow (2001) #26
"Straight Shooter Part 1: Hired Guns" is written by Judd Winick and drawn by Phil Hester and Ande Parks. Guest-starring Black Lightning. The Elevast Corporation wants to build a multi-million dollar shopping and business complex called Star Center in the middle of town, displacing dozens of residents of Lamb Valley. The protests are loud and the lawsuits are vitriolic. But Green Arrow doesn't step in until a group of saboteurs begin destroying construction equipment on site. Despite his wealth, Oliver Queen has always sided with the "little guy" in any battle against corporate greed. Above that, he's respected the law. But when Jefferson Pierce, Black Lightning, who now also happens to be Secretary of Education under President Lex Luthor, asks him to intervene on behalf of the homeowners, he agrees.

Pierce introduces Green Arrow to his niece, the beautiful attorney Joanna, who is representing the Lamb Valley residents in a court action against Elevast. Queen pledges his vast financial backing for their cause, putting fear into the hearts of the Elevast corporate board. The action shifts, however, back to the construction site where something big and nasty is tearing a hole in everything it encounters. How is this nine foot tall shaggy nightmare tied in with Star Center and can Green Arrow stop its murderous rampage?
