GOON (2003) (#1-44) (DARK HORSE) (ERIC POWELL) #7 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Goon (2003) #7
Guest-starring Hellboy. Written and drawn by Eric Powell. Cover and framing sequence art and plot by Mike Mignola. In Lebanon, Tenn., in 1965, Hellboy digs through a dusty farmhouse long abandoned by the living and discovers an out-of-place object: a comic magazine depicting the zombie fighter called the Goon. He has little time to ponder this anomaly, however, as a sharp blow to his head throws him for a loop. Waking, Hellboy finds he's battling an octopus flying a biplane. The weirdling pilot and craft crashes abruptly very near the Goon, the very same character depicted in the comic. Disoriented and unsure of his bearings, Hellboy does the only sensible thing given the circumstances. He heads for the local bar.

A few steps away, however, Hellboy and the Goon come across a group of zombies loading a truck with stolen pork chops. The muscle-bound mystery men wade into the life-challenged laborers with a vengeance; knocking heads and pork chops flying. Later at Norton's Pub, Hellboy and the Goon celebrate their success by knocking back a couple, eating some pork chops and playing a hand or two of poker. All seems to be going well, until a sickly looking cat with the face of a degenerate pleads for Hellboy to help him find the lost, little girl who owns him. Following this strange creature into the woods, Hellboy finds he's been led right into a trap orchestrated by the Zombie Priest (who's been stealing the Goon's pork chops) and the Communist Airborne Mollusk Militia!
