Plot Synopsis: Final Crisis (2008) #6
Death of Batman. Death of Kalibak the Cruel. Death of Libra. "How to Murder the Earth" is written by Grant Morrison with art by J.G. Jones , Marco Rudy, Carlos Pacheco and Jesus Merino. Darkseid, revived from his fall to Earth after the Death of the New Gods, has launched an all-out assault on free will. He's sent his Justifiers out across the globe, sowing the seeds of Anti-Life and robbing human minds of their independent thought. A dwindling group of super-humans race to the ruins of Bludhaven to stop his mad plans but Darkseid has his own super-powered forces including a possessed Mary Marvel and the new Female Furies led by the mind-controlled Wonder Woman.

As Supergirl , Black Adam and the new Captain Marvel take on Mary Marvel, Mr. Terrific activates the final gambit in the arsenal of Checkmate, the international agency charged with combating super-menaces. Superman and Brainiac 5 contemplate using the Miracle Machine. Mister Miracle, Sonny Sumo and the new Forever People think they may hold the key to victory and the Justice League of America satellite is invaded by Green Arrow and Black Lightning, each now a Justifier under Apokolips' control. And lastly, the Batman breaks his vow against using firearms to strike a deadly blow against Darkseid and pays the ultimate price!
