FANTASTIC FOUR (1961) (#1-416) (MARVEL) #101 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Fantastic Four (1961) #101
"Bedlam at the Baxter Building!" is written by Stan Lee with art by Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott. What starts out as a fun-loving dance party at FF headquarters swiftly turns into a grim reminder of the criminal element that's all around us. Witness as America's most famous super-hero team gets tossed out of their headquarters by their new landlord, the criminal syndicate known as the Maggia. Under the guise of protecting their new headquarters from trespassers, the well-armed crooks first take out the Human Torch and then Mister Fantastic, Crystal and the Thing!

It's up to the Invisible Woman to turn the tide as all of the FF's most incredible scientific inventions nearly end up in the hands of mobsters! Since the early years of the Silver Age, the Marvel Universe always had its Maggia (a derivation of the real-world Mafia), plotting behind the scenes to "rub out" super-heroes. But Kirby's fascination with the Mob really began to take off in the late 1960s with a series of crime-related FF stories and then his underworld magnum opis, the marvelous black & white In the Days of the Mob. Check it out!
