DC: NEW FRONTIER (2004) #6 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: DC: New Frontier (2004) #6
"Justice League of America" is written and drawn by Darwyn Cooke. The early 1960s were a time of incredible optimism for America and the world as the scientific advancements born out of war promised to carry mankind to a destiny in the stars. But along with that optimism, there was a great deal of trepidation as well as racism, international tension and paranoia still ran rampant. As if sensing the world's need for a common enemy to unite against, fate sends up the Centre; an ancient alien entity which became known in legends as The Land That Time Forgot. Immense in size and intellect, the Centre has awoken and seeks to steal mankind's energy supplies and destroy the species before leaving the planet.

Arrayed against the Centre are a group of new heroes, some bearing the names, powers or likenesses of their World War II counterparts. Organized by the U.S. intelligence community, the Challengers of the Unknown, Adam Strange, Wonder Woman, the Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, the Flash and the Blackhawks join civilian scientists including Niles Caulder (later of the Doom Patrol), Doc Magnus (who would later create the Metal Men) and Ray (the Atom) Palmer to overcome this menace. Superman has failed to stop its advance but together this new group of heroes and its newest recruit, Hal (Green Lantern) Jordan come together in triumph! A new day dawns for America, for the world and for justice!
