DC: NEW FRONTIER (2004) #2 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: DC: New Frontier (2004) #2
"Strange Adventures" is written and drawn by Darwyn Cooke. An aged astronomer's last wish to reach out to the stars results in a strange visitor being brought back to Earth. But even though his arrival was heralded with death, the Martian Manhunter becomes a champion of life. Adopting the identity of John Jones, a police officer, he uses his telepathy, strength, shape-changing and other powers to battle men whose criminal actions mark them as less human than himself. But when he and a private eye friend move in to break up a cult of child kidnapers, they encounter a crusader of a different stripe: the mysterious Batman.

Meanwhile, Superman and Wonder Woman, the two symbols of American Democracy, find themselves amid the jungles of Indo-China and a bit lost amid the gray morality that war can sometimes bring. The Amazon Princess, ever the liberator of oppressed women, arms a group of abused Laotian females and they promptly slaughter their male captors. Even the Man of Steel is caught off-guard by their ferocity. Then, back stateside and far from such shock and horror, society's elite celebrate the latest victory of veteran prize fighter Ted Grant (secretly the Wildcat). But Captain Cold soon interrupts cocktail hour with an attempted robbery. How fast will the Flash arrive to put the frigid felon on ice?
