DAREDEVIL (1964) (#1-380) (MAN WITHOUT FEAR) (MARVEL) #65 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Daredevil (1964) #65
"The Killing of Brother Brimstone" is written by Roy Thomas and drawn by Gene Colan and Syd Shores. Karen Page, disillusioned by Matt Murdock hiding his Daredevil identity from her for so many years, has fled New York for Hollywood. There, she's found a new career as a bit actress on everyone's favorite daytime gothic soap opera "Strange Secrets" (think Dark Shadows!). Her eerie scene is a fog-strewn chase with the macabre Brother Brimstone (think Barnabus Collins) stalking her in the night. All would be right in the world but when the director calls cut, the villain of the piece keeps living on in his part.

It's a good thing ole Hornhead follows his lover to the West Coast because when the Strange Secrets script calls for Brother Brimstone to die off, actor Ross Archer doesn't take it well at all. In a sick replication of the day's on-camera drama, Archer stalks members of the cast who are scripted to live on past him. Daredevil swoops in when the victim becomes Karen but finds Archer has all of the preternatural strength of his on-screen Brother Brimstone character. The showdown on the catwalks of the studio the next day leaves unanswered many haunting questions. For example, what if Archer and Brother Brimstone aren't the same person?
