CONCRETE (1987) #2 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Ten-issue series, B&W, 32 pages, $1.50 cover (#1-4), $1.75 cover (#5-10)
The first Concrete series. Paul Chadwick was the first Dark Horse creator to break out with a successful character and title that stood on its own. Original appearances of Concrete are documented in DARK HORSE PRESENTS. An interesting sidebar is that Concrete was the first of the Dark Horse Publishing family of characters to be optioned for film rights. According to Paul's columns there have been ongoing attempts to bring the character to film, but because of both the character's inherent difficulty in being portrayed in a believable fashion physically, and the problems of writing a script that allows the underlying humanity of Concrete to be expressed well, the film keeps being put off. Development work continues, however, and the success of THE MASK and TIME COP certainly provide an incentive for the filmmakers.
