CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN (1958) (#1-87) (DC) #61 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Challengers of the Unknown (1958) #61
"The Robot Hounds of Chang!" is drawn by Bob Brown. A series of high tech robberies lead the Challengers of the Unknown to the island fortress of Chang, a brilliant but malevolent criminal mastermind. Off the coast of Malaya, the Challs' flying ship loses power and is drawn into the clutches of Chang's robot guards. Rather than kill Ace, Red, Prof and Rocky outright, the villain decides to hold a high stakes hunt for his own amusement. Chang cruelly sets them loose and sends his Robot Hounds out to kill them.

A ray-blasting Robot Eye that can see in the infrared spectrum is followed by an Ear-Robot that can hear the Challs' slightest movement or whisper. The third Robot Hound is a gigantic warrior. But in the end, the Hounds ironically prove to be Chang's undoing. Then in a backup story, Red tells the other Challs how he survived a bomb-blast to become an amnesiac, a pawn of the Challenger-Haters and gained the metamorphosing powers of Multi-Man in "The Chall Without a Memory!"
