CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN (1958) (#1-87) (DC) #19 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Challengers of the Unknown (1958) #19
"The Alien Who Stole a Planet" is drawn by Bob Brown. The Challengers run afoul of a group of aliens stranded on Earth who has designs on our planet as their new conquest. Armed with technology capable of translating physical matter into electronic signals and storing it on tape, the aliens can produce an army of their kinsmen in the blink of an eye as well as make their enemies disappear. Prof and Red fall victim to the strange ray and vanish before their teammates' eyes. But Ace and Rocky have the help of another faction of aliens who seek peace and find a way of turning the tables on these strange, would-be invaders.

Then, in our second story the Challs and their lovely colleague June are in the Middle East on an archeological dig when they encounter a massive four-armed beast. It's all they can do to stay one step ahead of the rampaging behemoth not knowing that it was the power of an ancient gem in the hands of an American criminal that brought the monster to life. When they finally begin figuring out the score, the Challs are faced with yet another horror: a flying serpent whose eyes blast fire! "The Beasts from the Fabulous Gem!" is drawn by Bob Brown.
