CAPTAIN MARVEL (1968) (#1-62) (MARVEL) #25 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Captain Marvel (1968) #25
"A Taste of Madness" is written by Mike Friedrich and drawn by Jim Starlin and Chic Stone. Betrayal. Duplicity. Lies. All are tools of mental torture. And each is used by a mysterious tormentor acting behind the scenes to frame Rick Jones for murder. This shadowy foe also aims to convince Rick that his girlfriend has betrayed him, seeks to exploit Captain Marvel's wavering powers and to drive both Rick and Mar-Vell insane. After Rick's betrayal and the subsequent frame-up, Captain Marvel is beset by a long line of his old enemies.

In quick succession, Mar-Vell faces Ronan the Accuser, Megaton, Yon-Rogg, the Hulk, Zaren of the Supreme Kree, the Metazoid, Aakon and the Sub-Mariner in brutal combat. So relentless is their assault and rapid their attacks that Capt. Marvel scarcely has time to react to one assault before another attack begins from a new direction. Soon, the mind of the battle-trained Kree warrior snaps and he exchanges places with Rick Jones, who is quickly overcome by the real enemies who finally stand revealed: the shape-shifting Skragg and the Super-Skrull!
