CAPTAIN AMERICA (1968) (#100-454) (MARVEL) #144 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Captain America (1968) #144
First appearance of the Falcon's new costume. First appearance of the Femme Force. Guest-starring the Falcon and Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. "Hydra Over All!" is written by Gary Friedrich with art by John Romita Sr. Our story begins with an action-packed invasion of a Hydra cell by Cap, Nick Fury and then newly formed Femme Force, a squadron of female S.H.I.E.L.D. agents led by Sharon Carter, a.k.a. Agent 13, who also happens to be the love of Cap's life. Armed with jet-packs and sky-sleds, the super-spies make quick work of the terrorists.

But soon it's revealed that it has all been a military demonstration for President Richard Nixon and his Cabinet as a plea for more funding. The Hydra agents were all Life Model Decoys (LMDs) and the Femme Force is very much an as-yet untried force. But America has high hopes for these liberated and lethal ladies! Then, in a back up story, Sam Wilson returns to the ghetto in order to re-dedicate himself to his woman and his people in "The Falcon Fights Alone!" (written by Friedrich and drawn by Gray Morrow). But has Cap lost yet another partner?
