BATMAN/DOC SAVAGE SPECIAL (BATMAN AND DOC SAVAGE) (2009) #1 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Batman/Doc Savage Special (2009) #1
One dwells in darkness, a figure of fear and superstition. The other dwells in the light of the world of reason, a champion of intellect over ignorance. Yet, each hero seeks to protect Gotham City from the growing threat of corruption that spreads from its underworld roots into the highest levels of the police department and even City Hall. The Batman, although young in his crimefighting career, is already the stuff of legends and of misunderstanding by the authorities. Doc Savage, seemingly ageless and indestructible, is a Man of Bronze who seeks out and destroys evil whereever he finds it and is widely hailed as a hero.

Writer Brian Azzarello starts his First Wave project aimed at reviving some of the pulp roots of modern comics by teaming up the Darknight Detective with a man whose knowledge of science is matched by his physical strength and his seemingly unlimited resources. Someone has murdered a top crime figure and has laid the blame on the Batman's doorstep. Newly arrived in Gotham, Doc Savage takes on the case while amid a vision quest of his destiny. Their paths inevitably cross in the haze of recrimination and accusal but soon the two very different heroes find they have a common purpose: to save the city! "Bronze Night" is written by Azzarello with art by Phil Noto.
