BATMAN (1940) (#0-713) (DC) #702 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Batman (1940) #702
Guest-starring the Justice League of America. "R.I.P. The Missing Chapter" continues in "Part Two: Batman's Last Case" (written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Tony Daniel). The assassination of the New God Orion was the spark that started the inferno that was dubbed the Final Crisis. Batman's analysis of the time-traveling bullet that killed their comrade astonishes his fellow JLA members. But he barely has time to track its source before Darkseid's plan is underway and pawns such as the renegade Green Lantern Kraken are wreaking havoc!

Taken prisoner by the forces of Apokolips the Dark Knight detective demonstrates why he's also the best escape artist since Harry Houdini. Stealthily, he gets the drop on Darkseid himself and breaking his own rule about using guns and aims a dire weapon of Apokolips right at the evil mastermind's head. But Darkseid's Omega Beams prove faster than Batman's trigger finger and in a split second, our hero is sent back through time, stranded in the past: Darkseid's Life Trap. Now Batman is literally history!
