BATMAN (1940) (#0-713) (DC) #701 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Batman (1940) #701
"R.I.P. The Missing Chapter. Part One: The Hole in Things" is written by Grant Morrison with art by Tony Daniel. Batman has been marked to die. He's been told by the villain named Hurt that the next time he puts on the cape and cowl will be his last. Escaping from a downed helicopter that's crash-landed in the river, the Darknight Detective contemplates the fact that these may be the last days of his life. After returning to Wayne Manor, the Batman fetches his Bat-sub and returns to the crash scene to see if Hurt survived as well.

When he finds that Hurt is gone, the sense of unease deepens. The villain knows Batman's secret identity. He's been inside Wayne Manor, discovered the hidden entrance to the Batcave, and perused the Caped Crusader's deepest secrets. But soon a bigger crisis looms that eclipses the threats and prophecies of Hurt. The Final Crisis, as announced by Superman reporting on the murder of the New God Orion, takes the Batman's attention. But in the back of his mind, the doom clock is always ticking!
