AVENGERS VS. AGENTS OF ATLAS (2010) #4 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Avengers vs. Agents of Atlas (2010) #4
Final issue. "Earth's Mightiest Super Heroes" part 4 is written by Jeff Parker with art by Gabriel Hardman. A chrono-virus that disrupts the flow of time is spreading and has drawn together the Avengers and the Agents of Atlas to rein it in before it sends reality into a tailspin. However, exposure to the virus' time-altering energies has transformed the Avengers and the Uranian of Atlas into former versions of themselves. As disconcerting and confusing as that is, these early heroes are nonetheless every bit as brave as their modern counterparts and they take on the menace with renewed vigor and bravery.

Scientists Hank (Giant-Man) Pym, Bruce (Hulk) Banner and Tony (Iron Man) Stark reason that the chrono-virus may stem from the Avengers' first clash with the time-traveling tyrant named Kang the Conqueror (see Avengers #8). Rather than allow himself to be defeated by the Avengers as he was in this timeline, Kang activated a failsafe creating splinter realities in which he was victorious. His vanity centers on Giant-Man who was the one who struck the final blow against him in their first battle and un-sticks the hero in time. These infinite variations of Giant-Man now seek unity and peace in the arms of his true love Janet (the Wasp) Van Dyne. Unfortunately, in modern times, the Wasp is dead. Also, don't miss "My Dinner with Gorilla Man!," a cautionary tale about putting too much faith in legends, written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Giancarlo Caracuzzo.
