ALL-STAR SUPERMAN (2005) #12 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: All-Star Superman (2005) #12
Final issue. "Superman in Excelsis" is written by Grant Morrison with art by Frank Quitely and Jamie Grant. Superman is dying, poisoned by the very Yellow Sun radiation that gave him his super-powers while on Earth. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor has stolen Superman's powers and is using them to wipe out half of Metropolis just because he can. Clark Kent (secretly Superman) was one of his first victims and while in a near-death state, Clark dreams of his Kryptonian father Jor-El and witnesses once again the death of Krypton.

After awakening, Clark seems to be possessed of a renewed sense of purpose. Firing a gravity gun at Luthor, he manages to disable the hyper-powered villain momentarily. The Man of Steel is further helped by the fact that Luthor is distracted by all of the ingenious ideas he's getting since gaining super-intelligence. Finally, Superman must hurl himself into the Sun which has been poisoned by Solaris in order to repair it. Is this the last sacrifice of Krypton's sole surviving son?
