ADVENTURE COMICS (1938) (#32-503) (DC) #357 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Adventure Comics #357
"The Ghost of Ferro Lad!" No Legionnaire was more tragic than the ill-fated Ferro Lad, who despite his ability to become living metal, lost his life saving the Earth from the menace of the Sun-Eater. Superboy felt the guilt of his death, knowing that it was he who was meant to face down the intergalactic menace before Ferro Lad knocked him out and took his place. Now, Ferro Lad's accusing ghost has returned from the grave to punish those who watched him die.

First in dreams, then in objects flying around Legion headquarters by themselves and finally in his most ghastly ectoplasmic form, Ferro Lad seeks revenge. During a seance conducted by Princess Projectra, the dead hero makes his demand. The Legion must disband and leave the galaxy! They comply but just when all seems lost, the true villain reveals himself to Superboy. He's a rogue Controller, one of a race of near omnipotent interstellar policemen, who, instead of enforcing peace, seeks to rule the galaxy. In the end, the Legion triumphs with the aid of a former Legionnaire who still has one last act of heroism in him.
