THOR (1962) (#83-125 JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY, 126-502) #241 - Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Thor #241
"The Death Ship Sails the Stars!" is written by Bill Mantlo with art by John Buscema and Joe Sinnott and cover by Jack Kirby. Odin is suffering a massive identity crisis. First, he removed his own memories to live among humans as Orrin, the leader of California migrant worker movement. Learning humility to temper his Asgardian power, Odin hoped to become a better ruler. But then he fell prey to the sorceries of the Egyptian gods and become convinced he was Atum-Re, the Lord of Heaven! Emerging from a pyramid that fell from the sky into downtown San Diego, Odin doesn't seem to recognize his own son, Thor, and lashes out to keep the Thunder God from advancing.

The Egyptians gods: Horus, Isis and Osiris, want Odin to embody the power of Atum-Re so that they might resist the onslaught of Seth, the god of evil. Thor, meanwhile, wants only for Odin to return to Asgard to aid his people in warding off evil threats there. Finally, Thor and the Egyptian gods reach an agreement. Seth is the more immediate threat and together they return inside the pyramid and from there onto the astral plane. It isn't long before Seth and his unliving legions begin their assault. Can Thor, Jane Foster and the amnesiac Odin survive in this war of the gods?
