OUR FIGHTING FORCES (1954) #157 - Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Our Fighting Forces #157
Starring the Losers. "Panama Fattie!" is written and drawn by Jack Kirby with inks by Mike Royer. During WW II, the Pacific and European Theaters of the Allied war effort moved goods back and forth using the narrow peninsula of Panama. With the sheer volume of material in transit there it was perhaps inevitable that some criminal element would spring up to take advantage. Hijackers and smugglers there were a-plenty, but none with as much presence as the gun-toting mama known as Panama Fattie. When the Losers Capt. Cloud, Capt. Storm, Sarge and Gunner are called on by the U.S. Navy to find lost shipments that passed through Panama, they are set on a collision course with the corpulent crook.

Sent out as bait with a truck full of machine parts vital to the war effort, the Losers are set upon on a lonely stretch of road by Panama Fattie's cronies. A fierce gun-battle ensues but comes a screeching halt when Fattie herself mysteriously pulls the plug. Could it be she's fallen for the rugged good looks of Capt. Storm? Whatever the reason, Fattie soon convinces the Losers that she's an innocent and to take her back to her cantina for drinks and a meal. The titanic turncoat sets a nice table but the food's all laced with knock-out pills. Soon the Losers find themselves staring at the business ends of a row of automatics while Panama Fattie sells their machine parts to a Japanese officer. How does it end? You have to read next issue to find out.
