Mile High Comics Helps The Homeless This Thursday

Howdy!

Today's newsletter is being written on my return flight home from sunny San Diego. I flew out here yesterday morning to attend the prestigious "Nicky" awards ceremony founded by our International Imperial Court System 's Queen Mother I of the Americas Nicole the Great, 43 years ago. The mayor of San Diego Kevin Faulconer was at the awards last evening, along with his charming wife Katharine, in order to present Judy and Dennis Shepard with the George Moscone Humanitarian Award for lifetime achievement in advancing civil rights for all. Also in attendance were Toni Atkins the President of the California State Senate, California State Assemblymember Todd Gloria, and Terry Sidie, Emperor I of the Americas and owner of the ultra-cool "FACES" nightclubs in Sacramento and Reno.

As the ICS Imperial Crown Prince of the Americas, I was honored to be seated at the head table with the Shepards, the Mayor and his wife (who I got to know pretty well when I was also seated next to her at the Harvey Milk Breakfast in March...), and all the other dignitaries. You would think that would make for stuffy dinner conversation, but we actually all had a lot of fun! The Shepards (who are sharing my return flight to Denver) are truly wonderful people who somehow found the inner strength and courage to work past their own personal anguish after the brutal hate crime murder of their gay son, Matthew, and converted that terrible negative energy into a political force that has created much good for us all. I truly believe that Judy and Dennis Shepard reflect the very best of what it means to be great American citizens. I am proud beyond words to be able to help them in advancing their noble deeds.

As regards to my life in the comics world, we hosted our highest-grossing December auction in our 49-year history as a company this past Saturday. We had 64 active bidders registered, and they not only helped us raise a nice amount to help my wonderful wife, Nanette, to pay off some of our company bills still remaining from last fall, but also $1,579.00 to purchase warm clothing for the homeless struggling to survive in the bitter cold of Denver's frigid winter nights. I already have 1,000 pairs of lightweight gloves on order that I will pick up this afternoon, and will be buying a combination of 1,500 pairs of socks, hats, and scarves tomorrow.

Mile High Comics gift certificate

So you know, our online request for members of this mailing list to help with our clothing purchases for the poor has thus far generated $825, with even more kind people ordering small gift certificates every day. If you missed my earlier announcement, anyone who orders a gift certificate for $25 (or more) from us from now until Christmas will have 100% of their gift certificate money utilized to purchase warm clothing for the poor. Our entire Mile High Comics team will be passing out that clothing at the annual "Feeding Denver's Hungry" Christmas food distribution this Thursday morning. If you would like to join us, we will begin setting up outside the Colorado Coalition For The Homeless (21st/Stout) at 9 AM. We had over 1,500 elderly, disabled, and indigent clients lined up for food and warm clothing last year, so we do still very much need any help that you might be able to provide. If you possibly can, please order a small gift certificate as a part of your next order with us, even if you order after Thursday. My goal is to keep right on helping the poor throughout December and January. Thank you.

This lady is smiling because I gifted her with about a dozen little hotels soaps and shampoos that I was able to get for her. Imagine living life on the streets so desperately poor and alone, and in constant fear of being assaulted. Please help me to help women like her, if you can. Love is love

As regards our current 60% off NANETTE codeword sale on our back issue comics and magazines, that exceptionally generous codeword really should be ending now that our auction was such a success. Truth be told, however, I have always initiated a very generous back issue codeword sale no later than the Friday before Christmas. It seems less than logical to me to stop one 60% off codeword on Wednesday, and to then start another so soon afterwards, so I am just going to leave things alone. Therefore, you can count on all ten million of our back issue comics and magazines to remain on sale for you at 60% off via the NANETTE codeword through January 5th (Twelfth Night). Only new issues, a few variants, and our professionally-graded items are excluded. Please do enjoy these great 60% off holiday savings with the sincere thanks and gratitude for your kindness and support from Nanette, myself, and our entire Mile High Comics family. You are the best!

Happy collecting!

P.S. The only reason that I have had the ability to keep our 60% off sale in effect for you for so long without severely diminishing our website stock is because our two awesome in-house buyers, Will Moulton and Pam Brandle, have been engaging in an absolute frenzy of purchasing of private collections in Jason St. They have been buying as many as ten individual collections in a single day! Below are just a few choice samples from among their most recent scarce comics and magazine acquisitions. All are available to you for 60% off when you utilize the NANETTE codeword. Enjoy!
