Huge Comics and Toy Auction This Saturday!

Howdy!

We set a new record on our Mile High Comics Facebook page yesterday, with over 30,000 (!) page views. The reason for this huge spike in our traffic is that we posted the cover to our upcoming STAR WARS #1 variant edition by Humberto Ramos. As you can see below, it features a very colorful and attractive image of the bounty hunter Boba Fett, which has drawn universal acclaim.

Star Wars #1 Mile High Variant

As you can well imagine, we have been flooded with advance order requests today. I do not have a final tally, but it appears that about 3% of the total print run of our STAR WARS variant edition was committed during just the past 24 hours. I mention this fact because, if this trend continues, this may very well end up being the first of our Mile High Comics exclusive variants where we pre-sell so many copies that we have no choice but to stop taking pre-orders before release.

That having been said, if you would like to add a copy of this beautiful variant edition to your own collection, you will need to place an advance order at one of our Mile High Comics retail stores (or through Greg or Mario in our online department) as quickly as possible. Our pre-order price is $14.95 each, with a strict limit of five copies. We will guarantee to honor all preorders received through this weekend, but with our having already had 30,000 Facebook views on a title where our entire print run is only a tiny 3,000 copies, the odds that we are going to sell all of our copies is very high.

So you know, we are working to try to bump up our print run on our variant, but there is no assurance that this can happen at this late date. The regular edition of STAR WARS #1 is scheduled to ship in just four weeks, and our variant should release on the same date. That tight timeframe makes increasing our print run very difficult. Also, even if you do not pre-order our variant, be sure and reserve a copy of the regular edition of STAR WARS #1, as it, too, appears to be heading for a worldwide sellout. 'Nuff said.

My only other news for today is a link to a short YouTube video that I filmed yesterday, featuring an advance glimpse of our wonderful holiday auction. Our auction is scheduled at our Jason St. Mega-Store this coming Saturday morning, starting at 11:30 AM. Still photos of all 1,200 auction items are now posted to our Facebook page. Here is a link to my video:

So you know, our auction on Saturday will feature not only 1,200 items being sold for Mile High Comics, but also a special segment devoted to raising money for Urban Peak, a wonderful local organization that provides shelter to homeless teens in the Denver area. With bitter cold temperatures just around the corner, the estimated 2,000+ kids living on our streets really need your help. Your fellow comics fans have donated well over $4,000 in comics and toys for the Urban Peak auction, all of which will be sold with no minimums or reserves. Suffice it to say, there are going to be some absolutely incredible bargains for everyone who comes to this wonderful auction...

Happy Collecting!

P.S. If you can, please bring donations of new warm winter clothes and personal toiletries suitable for teens. We have a special donation box at our Jason St. store, which I personally started off by purchasing new coats, jackets, and boots. Socks, gloves, hats, scarves, and other cold weather clothing are also much needed.

Special Benefit Auction

Our Urban Peak benefit auction is a co-production of Mile High Comics and the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire, a registered 501-C3 charity. Working together, Mile High and the ICRME have already raised over $4,900 this year for the Denver Children's Advocacy Center. Please help us to also give the homeless teens supported by Urban Peak a boost for Christmas.
