Local News - This Saturday Huge Auction and Poker Game!
Hi!
This Saturday is a big day at our
Mile High Comics Jason Street Mega Store.
We will be holding two big events starting at 11:00 am.
POKER FLYER
The first event is our
Charity Poker Tournament
starting at 11:00 am. We are already accepting advance reservations for seats in
our poker tournament at all of
our stores.
If you register in advance, playing in our tournament essentially costs you literally nothing,
as your $25 donation is immediately rewarded with a $25 gift certificate that you can utilize
to purchase anything you might wish to own in our gigantic store. Please note, however, that
we only provide these gift certificates to players who register in advance. You can certainly
still register on the morning of the game, but only if we have seats still available. Our
December tournament last year attracted over 80 players, so early registration is strongly
encouraged!
As regards the charitable beneficiary of this year's holiday tournament, it will be the
"Feeding Denver's Hungry"
Sister City Program with
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.
While that beautiful Mexican town is a very popular tourist destination for many Americans,
"Feeding Denver's Hungry" founder, Jim Scharper, discovered to his dismay last year that the
homeless in that scenic city (including many women and children) receive almost no help from
the local government, and are thus left entirely to fend for themselves in a world of abject
poverty. Jim promised the local homeless advocates that he would try to organize a benefit
in Denver for these desperately poor people, so 100% of the proceeds from our poker tournament
will be donated to help them.
AUCTION FLYER
Our second event starts at 11:30 am we will be hosting our
huge no-minimum bid comics and toys auction,
arrive early, and bring lots of money! Our December auction is our largest of the year, with not
only 75 core lots filled with 700+ Silver Age comics, rare comics variants, scarce toys, statues,
original art, and much much more, but also at least 100 last-minute throw-in items. The revenues
from the core lots go to help my beloved wife, Nanette, to catch up in our company bills, while
the revenue from the throw-ins will be dedicated to purchasing gloves, socks, hats, scarves, and
other cold weather protections for the homeless here in Denver.

Lastly if you are looking for some unique and/or awesome gift ideas for this holiday season come on by.
We have been getting in all kinds of collections including tons of Comics, Toys, Graphic Novels, and just
about everything you can think of. So if you have that hard to find person to shop for or just want to
build your collection you should really stop our
Jason Street Mega Store.
Happy holidays!
