Rare Toys and Action Figures At Mile High Comics

Howdy!

Our Jason St. Mega-Store was featured in a segment of the TOY HUNTERS cable TV series a couple of years ago. The basic premise of that episode was that we had pallets upon pallets of out-of-production toys stored in the back of Jason St., with no clue as to their value. That was, of course, a bit of an exaggeration. While our toy storage area was, indeed, very chaotic, we do have several experts on staff who have a professional knowledge of toy and action figure scarcity, and prices. What they lacked (at least until now...) was the time, and the display areas, to bring forth all these cool collectibles.

What has radically changed at Jason St. over the past four weeks is that we finally built a large display area specifically for toys and action figures. As the accompanying photos clearly illustrate, our new displays contain both newer collectibles, and also vintage material. I could not include photos of all the different genres we've been working on, but suffice it to say that we have more Star Wars and G.I. Joe material available right now than we have had in stock for a couple of decades...

On a related topic, we are actively seeking to buy and trade for collections of toys and action figures. We will accept both carded/boxed items, as well as loose pieces. Lisa and James are our resident experts, and they are in the Jason St. Mega-Store Saturday-Wednesday. They also purchase and trade for back issue comics, statues, trade paperbacks and hardbacks, and even some signed collectibles. Call 303-477-0042 to arrange a time to meet with them.

Walking Dead Toys

My final topic for today's newsletter is a quick mention of the fact that we are seeking contributions for a special benefit action that will be held at our Jason St. Mega-Store on Saturday morning, December 20th, at 11:30 AM. If you have any toys, comics, books, or related items in your collection that you would be willing to donate, I will sell those items for you before the beginning of our annual holiday auction, with the net proceeds of the benefit portion of that portion of the auction going to Urban Peak.

Game of Thrones Toys

In case you have not heard of them before, Urban Peak is a registered 501-C3 charity that helps homeless teens in the Denver area to find shelter, especially on bitterly cold nights. They also help homeless kids with getting back into school, and/or with finding employment. The weather is about to take a serious turn for the worse, so I thought that having a benefit for Urban Peak would be a great way to start our annual holiday sale. We will also be accepting donations of toiletries, warm clothing, gloves, scarves, boots, etc. for the next ten days. We can only accept new items, however, as we have no mechanism for handling used clothing. Cash donations will also be gratefully accepted, with Mile High Comics doubling the amount of any cash donations received.

Masters of the Universe Action Figures

Working together, we can make this Christmas just a little better for some young people who could really use our help.

Happy Collecting!

P.S. Our Urban Peak benefit auction is a co-production between Mile High Comics, Inc. and the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire. Caeri Mancini and Melissa Nawrocki Roberts, the Emperor and Empress of the ICRME, will be helping us that Saturday morning. Later that same evening, Caeri is hosting his "Redneck Christmas" show at Aqua Lounge, a really nice neighborhood venue on Krameria, just off Colfax. I will be performing a twisted version of a classic Merle Haggard song at Caeri's show, so if you would like to experience an evening of enjoyably wacky fun, come on by and get redneck rowdy with us at Aqua Lounge!
