Local News - Black Friday Special Sales Begin Wednesday
Howdy!
I want to begin today by letting you know that we are offering
100 graphic novels, trade paperbacks, and hardback books
this year as "Doorbuster Specials" at
all of our retail stores. While our website prices
on these titles range from $12.95 - $75 each, for Black Friday these great books are
priced for you at only $5 each! Here are a few of the books you can pick at $5...
ARANA VOL. 1: HEART OF THE SPIDER DIGEST TPB (MARVEL) (2005)
DARK TOWER: GUNSLINGER BORN HC (2007)
FATHOM TPB (2002)
MARVEL ZOMBIES HC (2006)
SPIDER-MAN: AM I AN AVENGER TPB (2011)
WILL EISNER: TO THE HEART OF THE STORM GN (2000)
If you click here,
you can see the covers to all of the $5 books. Simply call your favorite
Mile High Comics retail store and let them know
which of these 100 titles that you would like to pick up on Black Friday, and we will
have them waiting for you at no additional charge. Please note that all $5 Black Friday
books which have been ordered must be picked up by close of business on Sunday, however,
as we may need any unsold copies to help fill online orders on Monday.
In addition to those discounted
100 book titles, we will also have the following
Black Friday sales in effect for you for the entire weekend:
* Back Issue Comics 50% Off
* Comics Trade Paperbacks and Graphic Novels 50% Off
* Comics Hardback Collections 40% Off
* Toys and Action Figures 40% Off
* Statues and Busts 40% Off
* T-Shirts and Apparel 40% Off
These are awesome specials, but please be aware that we will NOT be advertising
these specials in our stores. These Black Friday discounts are only for those know
to ask for them, which clearly includes you, and everyone else reading this newsletter.
Simply put, these exclusive Black Friday specials are our way of saying "Thank You!"
to you for your continuing support of
Mile High Comics.
In other news, I would like to urge those of you who enjoy playing poker to sign up for
our December 5th
Rainbow Alley charity event. Our December Texas Hold'em event will
begin at 11 AM on that Saturday morning at our
Jason St. Mega-Store. Because we raise
the blinds very quickly, the tournament should be over by 2:30 -3:00 PM. You can register
at any
Mile High Comics retail store, with your $25 buy-in donation going to help the
kids at Rainbow Alley have a nice Christmas.
So you know, I want our holiday Texas Hold'em tournament to be our largest ever, so I
have changed the buy-in procedure to make your participation essentially free. To explain,
we are still requesting a $25 donation for everyone who signs up for our tournament. What
I have now done, however, is to instruct our staff to immediately pass on a $25 gift
certificate (usable on your next visit to the store) to anyone who signs up to play.
Since you will instantly be getting your donation back as a credit, you will be playing
for free! Please note that you must register in advance to receive the $25 credit memo.
Advance registration will help us to arrange for enough chips, tables, and dealers. We
will certainly still accept walk-ins on the day of the game, but cannot honor the credit
memo offer on that day, or guarantee a seat.
Our winning prizes will then be $250 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd, and $50 each for
3rd-5th. Meanwhile, 100% of the entry fees will be donated to the
Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire,
a local 501-C3 registered charity of which I am one of the
officers. The ICRME will then immediately pass on the vast majority of the funds we
collect to help buy Christmas presents for the kids at
Rainbow Alley.
We are expecting
upwards of 100 players in this awesome holiday tournament, so it should be an amazing
amount of fun!
My final item for today is a request for donations for the homeless teens benefitted by
URBAN PEAK. Urban Peak is a 501-C3 charity that helps kids living on the street with
meals, shelter, and assistance finding jobs. Urban Peak needs donations of warm clothing
(new or used...) personal toiletries, and boots for both boys, and girls. We are also
seeking donations of comics, toys, books, and other collectibles for our December 12th
No-Minimum-Bid auction at our Jason St. Mega-Store.
All donated collectibles will be
auctioned off that day, with most of the money going directly to the Urban Peak.
A representative of URBAN PEAK will be at the auction to give thanks, and also to
answer any questions you might have about their wonderful organization.
Happy collecting!
