In other news, we will be hosting an important charity auction at our
Jason St. Mega-Store
on Saturday morning, December 12th. This auction will feature over 1,000 comics and
collectibles. If you are anywhere near Denver on December 12th, Please save the
date of our awesome auction. I promise you that you will be very happy if you
attend!
I will close today's newsletter with a simple request for your consideration on
Black Friday. When this annual holiday sales event first began, we were inundated
with waves of happy comics fans on the day after Thanksgiving. What we have seen
evolve over the past few years, however, is a shift away from family-owned local
businesses, with most Black Friday revenue now benefitting only the vast online
behemoths, and well-known national retail stores. While those impersonal outlets
will certainly provide you great deals on Black Friday, please do remember that
smaller retailers also do a lot to enhance your quality of life, and we work hard
for you year-round. No matter where you live, please do try to also support smaller
businesses on BLACKFRIDAY! I promise you that your kindness and consideration will
be greatly appreciated by us, and by our families.
Happy collecting!
Chuck Rozanski,
President - Mile High Comics, Inc.

P.S. As many of you already are aware, I am serving right now as the reigning
Prince Royale 42 of the
Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire. The ICRME
began as an exclusively GLBTQ organization 42 years ago, but has more recently
evolved into a very welcoming civic organization that raises desperately-needed
funds for all manner of Denver-Area charities. As Prince Royale, I am #2 on the
male line this year for all of northern Colorado, which means I have agreed to
help as many of our charities as possible.
That having been said, the huge no-minimum-bid auction that we will be hosting
at Jason St.
on December 12th is an official ICRME charity event that will
include several hundred donated items that we will be selling for
URBAN PEAK,
a Denver-area organization that helps homeless teens find food, shelter, and
jobs. If you cannot attend our December 12th auction as a bidder, you could
still help by donating collectibles (to be auctioned), warm clothes, personal
toiletries, and boots. Mid-December is when it starts getting really cold around
here, and most teens helped by Urban Peak need to avoid shelters, as they can
be unsafe. The more that we can do to help these kids get through the bitter
cold, the be better. Thank you!
