50% Off Codeword Sale On ALL Back Issue Comics and Magazines
Howdy!
I woke up this morning to discover that our impending sale of our 56th Ave. headquarters
building had somehow made it into the national news feed. Not surprisingly, I have been
receiving all sorts of feedback today from around the world, most of it quite positive. I
have to say that it is a blessing to be able to work in an industry where so many people are
caring and considerate.
If you missed my past couple of announcements, we have been experiencing a real estate boom
here in Denver, at least partially fueled by the fact that it remains illegal to grow marijuana
outside. In an enclosed space, however, it is now quite legal to grow pot, and extremely
profitable. As a result, industrial buildings located away from schools are in very high demand,
and the prices for them have been skyrocketing.
Both of our buildings are currently zoned for "grow" operations, so I have been receiving purchase
offers non-stop since the legalization law was passed by our voters, four years ago. I resisted
for as long as I could, but when I was informed recently that we could wipe out almost all of our
bank debt by simply selling the (much) smaller of our two buildings, I finally had to agree.
A buyers group visited the building yesterday, and if their offer is acceptable, we will have
to be out of 56th Ave. by March 31st.
MILE HIGH 56th Ave. Warehouse
Where this leaves us is with the daunting task of moving six million+ comics from our 56th Ave.
location, over to Jason St.
The distance between our two buildings is less than a mile, and we
should be able to move most of our comics, magazines, and fixtures on pallets. With 65,000 total
square feet available in Jason,
we should also be able to squeeze those six million comics (and
our offices) into that bigger building without too much difficulty. The logistics and the cost of
the move will be a bother, but we will also eliminate $10,000/month in operating costs by closing
56th, which should allow us to offer you even more great comics in the future.
All of the above having been said, it is also true that the more comics and books that we can sell
from our online inventory over the next couple of months, the fewer that we will need to move. That
is precisely why I am going all-out today, by initiating a 50% off MOVINGDAY! codeword sale. This
new codeword sale is extremely generous, as it comes on top of the halving of nearly all of our
website
prices that I put into effect for you last April. If you have been waiting for us to offer
all of our back issue comics and magazines at remarkably low cost, your wait is over. Only new
comics, a few variants, and our CGC-graded issues are excluded from this 50% off sale. Please enjoy
these amazing bargains with our sincere thanks for your continuing support of our efforts on your
behalf here at Mile High Comics.
At the same time as I am offering the 50% off MOVINGDAY! codeword discount on most of our comics and
magazines, I have also requested that all 250,000+ of our
trade paperbacks, hardbacks, and graphic novels be
discounted for you by 50% off (hardbacks) and 60% off (trade paperbacks and graphic novels). Those
discounts for books do not require the codeword, as they are posted for you right on our
website.
This exciting steep discount book sale has already generated a record number of book orders, but our
inventory is so extensive that those sales have hardly made any appreciable impact on our over selection
of books. That having been said, it is still very much in your best interest to shop early during the
sale, while our selection is at its peak.
I will close today's newsletter by letting you know that three more of our wonderful
Mile High Comics
variant editions are releasing next week. All are still available for you to order today at our minimal
$19.95 advance order price. All three of these cool Marvel Comics variants are ONLY available through
us, and have extremely low print runs. The new STAR WARS movie is just over a month away, and the
DEADPOOL movie will be released in about 90 days. Exciting times!
