Huge Comics and Toy Auction This Saturday
Howdy!
After a brief summer hiatus, we have created for you yet another of our fantastic no-minimum-bid comics auctions. Our auction will be held at
our Jason St. Mega-Store
on this upcoming Saturday, September 13th, beginning at 11:30 AM. There will be approximately 300 items offered during the auction, including a broad selection of toys, comics, statues, and a large number of miscellaneous collectibles.

In addition to our usual auction items, we will be offering eight specially-selected lots of comics that have been individually embellished with cool original art sketches. The auction for these eight special original art lots will begin precisely at noon, and will be a benefit for the Denver Children's Advocacy Center. All funds received from these eight lots will be donated to the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire (a registered 501 C-3 charitable organization of which I am personally a member...), which has agreed to then pass on 80% off the proceeds directly to the DCAC.

In case you are wondering, the Denver Children's Advocacy Center is a vital part of our Denver community, directly helping children who have either been abused, or have been witness to a violent crime. I was blessed to be given a tour of their facilities last Friday, and came away with a strong desire to help them even further to achieve their goals. I say "further" because we were at the DCAC that day to celebrate the $1,907 that we raised for them on eBay last month by auctioning that incredible piece of Batman original art that was created during our Denver Comic-Con pre-party.
Original Batman Art
As an aside, having this wonderful art piece drawn for the DCAC was solely the brainchild of Joshua Andrews, our amazing Mile High Comics Customer Service specialist. He personally approached all 14 of the artists who contributed, and persuaded them that assisting the DCAC was a good thing to do in the middle of an already crazy-busy convention schedule. We all owe Joshua a debt of gratitude for a job very well done.

In addition to the $1907 that we raised for the DCAC through the eBay auction, we raised more than $1,000 in additional money for them through tips at our Cosplay performance show, and through the charity bake sale that we operated during our Denver Comic-Con pre-party. Imperial Court Empress 41 Melissa Nawrocki, and Emperor 41 Caeri Mancini, combined our contributions in with another event that they hosted, which then allowed the ICRME to contribute yet another $3,400 (!) to the DCAC. If our contributions help to bring healing to even just one of the 500+ victimized children that the DCAC will need to help this year, then all our efforts will have been completely worthwhile.
I will close today's newsletter by personally inviting you to attend this Saturday's auction. I promise to work hard to make this auction especially entertaining, and will also seek to provide everyone who attends with some great bargains. Suffice it to say, after all of my adventures at conventions this summer, I have some very interesting new stories to tell...
Happy Collecting!

P.S. Photos of all of the scheduled lots from
Saturday's auction
are now posted for you to our
Mile High Comics Facebook
page. Please do bear in mind, however, that because I am dedicated to assuring that everyone who attends gets a great deal, I will add more unannounced auction lots if a large crowd shows up...
