New Collections Arrive - Capt. America, New Mutants, Capt. Marvel, Conan, more Howdy! I spent a few minutes sorting comics this morning from a deal that I purchased in Pennsylvania over two years ago. You may be surprised that it took us that long to add these scarce comics into our inventory, but in all honesty that is precisely why I was so eager to combine all of our inventory operations into our Jason St. facility. Simply put, it dismayed me that awesome groups of comics that I purchased on my road trips oftentimes languished in unopened long boxes for long periods after I returned from my buying trips. Clearly, some of our procedures had to change. The good news is that I have now successfully implemented those procedural changes, and those boxes that I was rummaging through this morning are among the very last completely unsorted boxes in the building. As a result, Pam and I are planning to post a completely revised buying list to our website in the near future. Before we reopen our buying program for specific issues, however, I first wanted to mention that we are once again willing to contemplate purchasing entire collections. If you have any comics, trade paperbacks, or comics related hardback books that you would like to sell, please write to Pam Brandle at pamb@milehighcomics.com. She can either work out a deal with you by e-mail, or in the case of larger collections, can work to arrange a time for me to fly to your location for a personal visit. Also on my upcoming agenda is a recommencement of my East Coast buying trips. Unless something dramatic transpires, my plan is to start attending shows in the New York and New Jersey area after Labor Day. By then, we should be well on our way to having to having our team of eager professionals waiting to sort every box of comics that I ship home. That thought really excites me! Moving on to current events, Pam sorted and graded another 700 individual comics titles yesterday, and they are already posted for you into this morning's New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock links. Because we are being highly selective about which comics Pam is grading, I can guarantee you that we filled at least another 300 holes in our website inventory just yesterday. Filling 300 holes does not make an enormous difference, but the sum of our inventory efforts for the last three weeks exceeds 40,000 back issues, which most certainly does.
