Littleton Store Closes
Auction Tomorrow

Howdy!

The first truckload of comics just arrived at Jason St. from our former Littleton affiliate store. This act marks the beginning of the end of a retail store that has been a part of Mile High Comics history for the past 22 years, first as a company-owned store for its first 7 years, and then as an affiliate for the past 15 years.

Littleon Store

If the closing of the Littleton store comes as a surprise to you, I have to admit that it was just as much of a surprise to me. I first heard on Monday that owner, Lynn Moulton, had decided to close. The reasoning behind his decision was quite simple: his landlord doubled (!) his rent. With no other nearby stores available for rent at a rate that he could afford, Lynn requested that we help him to immediately shutter his store.

Lynn Moulton

All of the above having been said, what we are doing today is transporting all of Lynn's fixtures and inventory to our Jason St. Mega-Store. His fixtures will be used to enhance that store even further, while many of his comics will be incorporated into our convention booth. His new comics accounts are being transferred over to our Lakewood and Colorado Blvd. stores. Lynn will then return working for Mile High Comics on Monday, with his initial job being to help us to price comics for the upcoming San Diego convention. While we are sad that Lynn's adventure in comics retailing is at an end, we are very happy that he chose to remain part of our Mile High Comics family.

One factor about the closing of Lynn's store that may have an immediate impact on you is that we are going to add a few choice items from Lynn's inventory into tomorrow's no-minimum-bid auction at our Jason St. Mega-Store. Tomorrow's auction already contains an excellent selection of older comics and new trade paperbacks, but we will be enhancing it even further with more comics, toys, and books to help cover the $500 in truck rental and labor costs that we had to absorb today to help Lynn to close. If you participate in tomorrow's auction, I promise you that you will be able to obtain some exceptionally great bargains! The auction begins at 11:30 AM at Jason St., and should run about two hours...

Poker Tournament

My only other news for today is a quick reminder that those of you who wish to participate in next Saturday's (June 13th) first-ever Mile High Comics Texas Hold-Em Poker Tournament need to register right away at one of our retail stores. We have about 30 people already signed up, with a limit of 64 players. Cost is $25, with the proceeds going to help pay for our annual ICRME JULY 4th picnic for the homeless in Cheeseman Park. First prize will be a $1,000 Mile High Comics gift certificate!

Happy Collecting!
