Friday's Comic-Con Party Volunteers Needed! Howdy! Friday's Opening Night Party for the 2015 Denver Comic-Con is now only 48 hours away! As I am sure that you can well imagine, all of us who work at Mile High Comics are highly focused right now on making this year's Comic-Con party the single most enjoyable event that we've ever hosted. Aside from the 50 (!) comics creators who will be signing autographs and selling artwork at our Jason St. party, we will also have a great costume contest, a two-hour Cosplay Drag Show, pro wrestling, face-painting for the kids, and a huge benefit bake sale. This is going to be a great party! All of the above having been said, our planning discussions about the party have made it clear to me that we may be significantly understaffed for this year's event. That is why I have decided to offer those of you who might have a little bit of extra time tomorrow (Thursday) or Friday the opportunity to earn free admission to this year's convention. Simply put, we have some extra dealer passes to the convention available as a consequence of our having purchased seven booths. We offer those badges to those who are willing to help us out, either at the show, or in getting ready. If you would like information about helping us during this year's convention, please call our Jason St. Mega-Store at 303-477-0042. We do have shifts available all weekend, but especially will need the most help during our Friday night party. Potential tasks might include: Cleaning at Jason St. (Thursday - Saturday)) Meeting/Greeting/Information during our party (Friday 5 PM-11 PM) Serving Refreshments (Friday 5 PM - 11 PM) Security (Friday-Monday) Helping customers find products (Friday - Monday) Setting up at the convention (Thursday) Running the convention booth (Saturday - Monday) Shutting down the booth (Sunday night) If you are not sure if you have time to help, but decide that you can when you get to our party, then just go ahead and check in with Lynne MacAfee at her booth near the front door of Jason St. Lynne will be assigning volunteers to areas in the store that best suit their own personal knowledge and experience. We will definitely need help in every single area of the store during our party, so if you can, please volunteer! In other news, we are starting to get some confirmations of donations of baked goods for the White Rose Scholarship benefit bake sale, but nowhere near enough to serve 3,000 potential visitors. You can drop off your baked items at any of our stores on Thursday, or at our Jason St. Store on Friday.
