SECRET WARS Variants
plus Denver Comic-Con Party News

Howdy!

I want to start off today by strongly encouraging you to make sure that you have your copy (or copies...) of SECRET WARS (2015) #2 reserved today. I mention this because it seems that every single time that the publishers release two issues of a title only a week apart, the second issue is grossly under ordered by retailers, and sells out very quickly. Given that SECRET WARS (2015) #1 actually outsold STAR WARS #1 in our retail stores, I am fully expecting that our limited stock of all editions of SECRET WARS (2015) #2 will blow out.

Secret Wars #2 Mile High

Continuing on this subject, now that SECRET WARS (2015) #0 and #1 are in the hands of comics fans, we are seeing unprecedented demand for all of the SECRET WARS (2015) variant editions. That having been said, I did offer a special package last week of several of those variant editions at cover price, but that offer is now null and void. Simply put, we bumped up the price on all of those SECRET WARS (2015) variants, and they are still selling at an unprecedented rate. I congratulate those of you who availed themselves of my special advance offer, as you made a very wise purchase!

Speaking of getting great deals, I am going to offer you one last opportunity to purchase copies of our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of SECRET WARS (2015) #1 at only $24.95 a copy. Our #1 variants are selling at an extremely fast pace right now, which is why I will be bumping our price on our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of SECRET WARS (2015) #1 up to $29.95 next Wednesday. We only print 3,000 copies of our Mile High Comics variant editions, which is why any increase in demand acts to diminish our remaining supply very quickly. When that happens, we raise the price...

Secret Wars #1 Mile High

As regards our Mile High Comics SECRET WARS (2015) #2-#8, you can still pre-order all of those issues from Greg and Mario in our new comics subscription department for only $19.95 each. Issue #2 will stop being available at that price as on Monday at noon, as it releases next Wednesday at $24.95. So you know, all eight of our Mile High Comics SECRET WARS variants will have covers by Dale Keown, and will combine to form a single huge battle scene. Each has a print run of only 3,000 copies. You can call Greg or Mario at 303-455-2659 (weekdays 9-5), or write to them at nice@milehighcomics.com. We do not allow wholesale purchases on our Mile High Comics variant editions, so there is a 3-copy limit in place.

In other news, there is a huge amount of racket outside my office in the Jason St. Mega-Store right now, as a section of wall is being torn out on the second floor to accommodate a particularly dynamic element of my performance at this year's Denver Comic-Con opening night party. This is the third year that we have hosted this incredible event, and I promise you that we are moving our entertainment portion of the show to an entirely new level. My goal is to make a new YouTube video to post for you this year that will surpass in craziness even my outrageous KRYPTONITE performance of last year's Cosplay show. This is going to be fun!

Because the Denver convention is being held on Memorial Day weekend, our party is on a Friday night (May 22nd) this year, as opposed to Thursday night the past two years. As a direct result, we expect our attendance to double to 5,000+. Our party officially runs 5 PM - Midnight, but the Jason St. store will actually open that day at 8 AM. I advise arriving as early as you can, both to get nearby parking, and also to reserve your seats for the free Cosplay show.

I also want you to know that we already have had 30 comics artists and writers from the convention commit to signing autographs at our Friday night party. Neal Adams, Howard Chaykin, Steve Lieber, Gene Ha, Trina, and Steve Leialoha are just a few of the bigger names committed to attend. We will also have a minimum of 20 live performances by members of the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire during our Cosplay Drag Show, which was a huge hit with both kids and adults at last year's party. In addition, we will have a full size wrestling ring set up, a huge costume contest with $1,000 MHC gift certificates as prizes, and also face painting for the kids.

I will close today's newsletter by quickly reiterating my earlier encouragements to you to pick up as many of the new Marvel STAR WARS comics as you can, while they are still relatively inexpensive. Marvel is pumping out numerous "reprints" right now of just about every single issue of their four STAR WARS titles, but these later editions have absolutely minuscule print runs. I am personally reinvesting every cent that I can scrounge in STAR WARS comics right now, as I see them as having tremendous upside potential. With six new STAR WARS movies coming out over just the next five years, this is just the beginning...

Happy Collecting!
