42 Free Comic Book Day Variants Reserve Yours Today Howdy! Mouse Guard HC Mega Man I have very good news today for those of you who shop with us online, particularly if you live in a remote area. Effective immediately, you are going to be able to reserve the limited edition 2012 Free Comic Book Day variant editions from us! In case you missed it, Free Comic Book Day is coming up this Saturday.  Beginning as just a minor annual promotion about ten years ago, it has since evolved into single busiest comics sales day of the entire year. In great measure, this massive popularity came to be because almost all of the comics publishers create special FCBD variant editions of their most popular comics, which they then offer to comics retailers for a nominal fee. Our job is then to give those comics away to as broad of an audience as possible, thereby hopefully creating some new interest in comics. While free, most FCBD editions are produced in very limited quantities, and they are seldom available for reorder. As a direct result, many past years FCBD variant editions are now quite collectible and sought-after, especially those created by once-smaller publishers who have since gained in popularity. Bongo Comics DC Comics: New 52 Our offer for you today is very easy and beneficial. We have set aside a substantial number of each of the 42 special FCBD variants to potentially ship to you. The list of all 42 is at the end of this newsletter. For any order you place with us this week over $20 you can choose four FCBD issues as a bonus. For each additional $5 increment of your order, you can choose another. That being the case, a $100 order (just to cite one example...) would allow you to choose 20 FCBD variants. By any measure, that's an incredibly great deal for you, especially if you do not live near a comics shop. To obtain your FCBD editions simply place your order with us as per usual, and then ask for your FCBD variants in the "notes" section of our online order form. We will then add them to your order, and ship them all together. I do need to stress two very important considerations about our Free Comic Book Day offer. First, no orders containing FCBD variants can be shipped until next Monday, after FCBD has occurred. We will, however, have your entire order packed and waiting to ship on Monday morning. Second, our FCBD variant editions offer is for this week only. Because the nominal fees we were charged for these "Free" comics actually added up to several thousand dollars, we had to limit our ordering on most of these FCBD editions. As a result, I fully expect that we will give all of our remaining copies away in our retail stores next Saturday. That being the case, please be sure and place your order for your FCBD editions with us over the next five days. 'Nuff said. Avengers: Age of Ultron Yo Gabba Gabba Speaking of our retail stores, I did want to mention that we will be opening our Jason St. Mega-Store this Saturday in order to participate in Free Comic Book Day. While all of the more popular "Gold" FCBD variants will be available at our Lakewood, Colorado Blvd., and Littleton retail stores, only our Jason St. Mega-Store will offer all 42 different editions, including all of the Independent publisher "Silver" editions. The deal at our stores on this Saturday is that we will simply give away four FCBD editions to anyone who stops by, but to obtain more than four free, the same $5 per copy free issue purchase increment that I mentioned previously will need to be met. If, however, you live near Denver and can visit our four retail stores,  our "four free" policy does actually allow you to obtain 16 FCBD editions at no charge, as long as you are willing to drive around to all four of the stores... I did also want to mention that our Jason St. Open House and No-Minimum-Bid Comics Auction on this past Saturday was a huge success, with about 300 Denver-area fans joining us. I also had several people come to visit me yesterday (Sunday) while I was sorting comics by myself in the back of the Mega-Store. I had the front door locked, but my visitors called the Jason St. Number (303-477-0042), and I then let them in for a private tour and shopping experience. One fan also brought me an incredible collection to buy, but I have to wait to tell you more about that exceptionally cool deal until Wednesday's newsletter...
