Free AVENGERS SAMPLER #1 Howdy! Wall of Comics I want to share a photo with you today that I took yesterday afternoon at our new Jason St. Mega-Store. In the photo, Bill Daniel (who greets most of our visitors to the Mega-Store...), is standing in front of a 30' long wall of Silver Age and Golden Age comics. We just constructed this cool comics display as the very first phase of a gigantic comics exhibit that will eventually ring our entire 25,000 square foot Mega-Store. (click on any of the images for larger views) So you know, the numbered bins underneath this fantastic display of older comics contain over 30,000 pre-1980 back issues, with a net value at Overstreet of approximately $500,000.00. I mention this huge value figure simply to point out that we have been working really hard all winter to locate and grade for our Mega-Store visitors a wonderful selection of great older comics. If you are ever visiting the Denver area, feel free to call 303-477-0042 and see if one of us is going to be working at Jason St. that day. Bill, Randy, and Lisa are usually there Monday-Friday 9-5, while I tend to be there working in the early evenings, and a few hours each day on the weekends. The Jason St. Mega-Store is located at 4600 Jason St., in a warehouse district just two blocks south of the Pecos exit from Interstate 70, right in the heart of central Denver. In other news, my prediction in Monday's newsletter that the second printings of AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #0 and #1 would instantly sell out turned out to be almost true. Marvel apparently printed quite a few extra copies of the #1 second printing, but the #0 second printing was totally sold out before it even released. We did manage to get our second reorder for #0 in just under the wire, but when we went back to get our third reorder, we were denied. Avengers vs X-Men #1 2nd Print What this means for those of you who have yet to place an order with us for a free copy of #0 second printing is that you need to really get in gear. I am going to continue to honor my offer to you to provide free copies of the second printings of #0 or #1 if you place a minimum $20 order with us, or both variant edition second printings if you place a minimum $40 order with us, but only through Friday morning. I wish it were otherwise, but we have already given away almost all of our initial orders on the second printings of both AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #0 and #1. Please do try to place your qualifying order with us right away... So you know, we do also still have copies available to you of all three primary first printings of AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #2, including both variant editions, for order increments of $20 each. Many of those older comics will eventually help to expand the Silver Age wall in Jason St. even further, presuming that they do not sell right away. That outcome is somewhat questionable, however, as our ongoing 50% off MADNESS! codeword sale is causing a huge surge in our sales, especially of our older comics. When all of our back issue comics and magazines are on sale at half price (excepting only new comics from the past twelve months, and our CGC-graded issues...) we sell many scarcer comics within minutes of their being posted into our daily New-In-Stock link...
