Howdy!
We have four major developments this week here at Mile High Comics that I think might be of interest to you.
First, we just received a huge shipment of Marvel Comics variant editions. To explain, every six months or so, Marvel clears their warehouse of all of their remaining cover variants, regardless of scarcity. When this occurs, we can obtain extra copies on even their ultra-rare 1:50 and 1:100 variants where we did not meet Marvel's original ordering restrictions. It becomes a real challenge, however, for us to us to get our order in fast enough after they release the new variants closeout list, as comics retailers all across the world compete to buy these scarce cover variants.
Blessedly, we were among the first to order from this week's steeply discounted variants list, so we were able to obtain over 80 (!) different Marvel variants which we can offer to you over this upcoming weekend for a flat $5 each, or 5/$20. Some of these variants having been selling quite well for us through our website in the $20-$25 range, so this is just an amazingly good deal for you. Supplies on each issue are, however, quite limited...
A second blowout sale that Marvel offered us this week is a steep discounting of 100+ of their recent hardback titles. We could not afford to order all of the titles that Marvel discounted for all of our stores, but as with our variants, we stocked the most copies and titles at the Jason St. Mega-Store, with Lakewood, Glendale, and Littleton each receiving generous allocations of the more popular titles. All are priced for you this weekend at half (!) of cover price. Even Amazon cannot offer you a 50% discount!
The third positive development for those of you who might be seeking recent comics that you missed, is that we have decided to release a small portion of our new comics reserve from our online business to our Jason St. Mega-Store. We are sending over 1,000 different titles and issue numbers to Jason this afternoon that were published during the last 6-12 months, with most priced at only $1 over cover price. If you have been hunting all over town for a few hard-to-find recent issues, you really should head over to Jason St. right away. This weekend's sale is the largest single selection of newer comics that we have ever offered in one of our retail stores...
My final bit of news for today is that our newly created bookstore in Jason St. is now nearly complete. If you are looking for any trade paperbacks, hardbacks, or graphic novels, our huge new 5,000 square foot area of the store devoted entirely to books is a must-see place for you to stop this weekend. So you know, we do still have a lot of out-of-print books offered in our bookstore at only original cover price, but that will change as the next few weeks go by...
