Comics Collections Wanted - We're Buying!

Howdy!

All the news is good today. Just two days into my latest buying trip on the East Coast, I have already been able to locate and purchase over 22,000 comics! Better yet, I already have more comics deals lined over the next three days up that should help me to surpass all my original goals for this trip. If all goes as planned, I should have 50,000+ back issue comics and magazines to ship back to Denver on Wednesday. Life is good!

In case you are wondering, I am working so hard at locating comics collections right now because I want to keep enhancing our online offerings for you. This year has begun as the very best in our entire 44-year history, in large measure because we slashed a great many of our back issue comics and magazine prices in half for you, while also keeping our 50% off SWEETHEART codeword in effect. As I am sure that you can well imagine, however, dropping many of our list prices to only 25% of where they were at the end of last year has caused some of our more popular comics to sell out. That creates a very challenging situation for me, as my role in the company is to keep our website well-stocked for you.

The good news is that I began this year with a wonderful reserve supply of one million unsorted back issues already stored in the back of our Jason St. Mega-Store. These comics are ones that I purchased during my buying trips of the past three years, that we then had no time to sort because we were having to divert so much effort into the move from our old Fox St. warehouse, over to our new Jason St. facility. While that move between buildings was only about one mile in distance, the work involved in setting up both the new warehouse and the the world's largest comics retail store in Jason St., was immense. Imagine forty tractor-trailers filled to the ceiling with over one million pounds of comics and fixtures, all completely scrambled...

Moving into Jason St. Mega Store

Where we are now is that we are sorting that reserve supply of one million comics at the impressive rate of over 25,000 back issue per week. That is how we are still managing to expand our website offerings for you each day, even with our sales running at more than double their normal pace. My concern, however, is that I do not want all that great progress to taper off. With our dramatically lower prices encouraging many thousands of new comics fans to place orders with us, I want to keep our inventory really well-stocked. In a nutshell, that is why I work so hard right now on seeking to find even more collections to ship back to Denver.

Amazing Spider-Man
#1 Mile High

In other news, I want you to be aware that we are now down to just over 30 days until our exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 releases. This issue features the return of Peter Parker to the Spider-Man stories, which is proving to be intensely popular. Our exclusive variant will have a tiny print run as compared to the regular issue, and a substantial percentage are already committed to pre-orders. If you have not already ordered, and would like a copy of our exclusive variant, you can only obtain them through us. Write to Greg or Mario in our new comics department at nice@milehighcomics.com, and they can help you to receive your copy on the day it releases, for $14.95 per copy (limit five, please...). Our exclusive variant is releasing on Free Comic Book Day, at which time the price will need to rise to $24.95 per copy. 'Nuff said.

Happy Collecting!

P.S. While I have been buying quite a few comics here on the East Coast, our head buyer, Pam Brandle, has also been purchasing a large number of collections from fans who are shipping them to our Denver warehouse. You can see her progress in our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock links for this week. If you have comics, books, or magazines that you might wish to sell us, give Pam a call at 303-455-2659 (weekdays 9-5 only!), or write to her at pamb@milehighcomics.com. A partial list of what we are seeking is on our website, but Pam can purchase darn near anything. She can also send you prepaid FedEx shipping labels for if you have a larger collection...
