Comics and Toy Auction This Saturday At Mile High Comics
Howdy!
This Saturday, March 7th, we will be hosting a great no-minimum-bid auction at
our Jason St. Mega-Store,
4600 Jason St., Denver. The auction will begin at 11:30 AM, and will consist of 400 choice back issue comics, out-of-production toys, posters, statues, and more cool collectibles selected from our huge Mile High Comics inventory. Some photos of our auction lots are posted for you at the end of this newsletter, while an entire roster will be posted to
our Mile High Comics Facebook page.

In addition to the Mile High Comics auction, we will be simultaneously auctioning donated collectibles to benefit the Denver Children's Advocacy Center, and the White Rose Scholarship Fund. If you have any extra items in your collection that you might be willing to donate, we would appreciate your contributions to the charitable portion of our auction very much.
As an aside, I want to make clear that the benefit portion of our auction is being organized under the auspices of the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire, a registered 501-C3 charity. The ICRME has been in operation in Denver for 42 years now, and has raised millions of dollars for homeless teens, helping injured veterans, AIDS research, scholarships, and much more. I have been an officer of the the ICRME for the past ten months, and during that time have organized several Mile High Comics events that have already raised well over $10,000. Most of that money has gone to the Denver Children's Advocacy Center (which helps abused children) and Urban Peak (which helps homeless young people).

To answer a question that was raised prior to our last auction, an important aspect of my being an officer of the ICRME is that I am not supposed to just donate money or goods myself, but rather to invent ways for everyone in our community to easily contribute to worthy causes. That is precisely the reason why I put this auction together. If you have any toys, comics, statues, posters, etc. that you no longer wish to own, this is a way for you to contribute their value toward a very worthy cause. We will be accepting donations at Jason St. all this week, or can bring them with you on Saturday morning, and we will instantly integrate them into the flow of the auction. This will be fun!

So you know, my plan is to conduct this auction the same way as I did our huge December event, alternating my auctioneering of Mile High lots, with single lots of donated items. Also, just so you know, we do now have an ICRME template for printing you a personalized IRS approved donation certificate. You will need to ask your tax advisor to be sure, but donating to our ICRME auction might earn you a substantial tax write-off, too.
Finally, because they were so wildly popular in December, we will be offering 100 mystery grab bags during the auction containing toys and comics for only $1 each, as well as tickets for a chance drawing. The winner of the drawing will receive a $500 (!) shopping spree at Mile High Comics. Tickets are only $1 each, or 6/$5, with all proceeds going to the ICRME. The drawing will be held at the end of Saturday's auction, and you need not be present to win...
Happy Collecting!

March 2, 2015
P.S. We will have two special guests on Saturday morning, as Richard Brendlinger and Gabriella But'Zin will help me at the beginning of the auction. They are our two candidates for Emperor 42 and Empress 42 of the ICRME. Our annual ICRME election will be held on March 28th of this year, and since Richard and Gabby are running unopposed, the odds are quite high that they will be our reigning monarchs for this next year. If you at all can, you will want to hear the two of them speak, as they already have some very exciting plans about how Mile High Comics and the ICRME can work together during the next twelve months.
