40% Off WOODCHUCK Codeword ending Wednesday

Howdy!

I wanted to start off today by proving you with an update in regards to DC's unprecedented publication last week of 54 variant covers to their new JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA (2013) #1. To begin, we can no longer offer any of them as a free bonus simply for placing an order with us. That was a gesture that I made early last week, when DC still had a few remaining copies of these ultra-rare State Flag covers in stock. Seventeen are now completely sold out, and if our sales from the end of last week are an indication, all of these State Flag variants are going to be extremely sought-after in the secondary market.

Here are the 17 editions that are completely sold out from DC, but still available from us:

That robust demand for the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1 variant editions surprised me not in the least, as to the best of my knowledge, these State Flag cover variants are the lowest print run mainline DC comics ever published, excepting only their exclusive RRP editions, several of which now bring in excess of $100 each. DC does not release actual sales figures, but with some states (such as Wyoming...) having no comics specialty shops at all, you have to assume that they were printed mostly for DC to include in their complete sets. My best guess is that DC only pre-sold about 800-1200 sets, so it is a stretch to assign even a 3,000 copy print run to that Wyoming flag cover. The same holds true for many other smaller states, so these State Flag variants are obviously incredibly rare. Whatever the case may be, we are expecting that DC will soon sell out of their stock on their last few remaining states.

Regular Edition

Combo Edition

Speaking of DC's "complete" sets, I need to let you know that they are actually missing a critical variant. All of DC's new "Combo" editions (that seek to entice fans to DC's online archive...) have a totally different cover price ($4.99), and a yellow/gold color to the logo, as opposed to the standard white logo. I only figured out this extremely important distinction after I saw a flurry of requests from astute fans who were asking us for just the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA (2013) #1 Combo edition. What we have discovered through further research is that, due their extreme scarcity, the Justice League Combo editions are now already being offered online by other comics sellers at $24.99. Why DC choose to not include these very distinctive and cool Combo variants in their "complete" sets, is a question we cannot answer...

All of the above having been said, once we figured out what was going on in the marketplace, we immediately contacted DC and purchased their last few remaining copies of the Combo edition. We are making those copies available exclusively for you at just $10 each. We can only hold this low $10 price for you through Thursday morning, however, as we are printing a special State Flags poster on that day in which we will price our remaining Combo copies at flat $25 each. Clearly, our supplies on all of these State Flag variants are very limited, and we are actually worried that we may well end up selling out of some states before the poster even comes off the presses. Through Thursday at noon, however, we are going to still allow you to order any of the State Flag variants from us that you wish for only $10 each.

Guardians #0.1
Moving on to other news, you can also still obtain a free copy of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #0.1 if you place any minimum $30 order with us through this upcoming Wednesday morning. Once that key issue in Marvel's 2013 storyline actually releases, however, we will need to end our giveaway, and mark our remaining copies to current market price. Just so you know this in advance, Marvel flat-out told us that the story in this issue was going to be the beginning of all that happens in the 2013 Marvel story continuity, including the lead-in to the upcoming GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY movie. To obtain your free copy just place any order with us as per usual, and then ask for your free #0.1 in the "notes" section of our online order form.

My final news note for today is that our very generous 40% off WOODCHUCK codeword will be ending on Wednesday. I highly encourage you to take advantage of this sale while you still can. A new 30% off SUNSHINE codeword will begin on Wednesday afternoon...

Happy Collecting!
