LOCAL NEWS - Win 2 Free Denver Comic-Con Badges!

Howdy!

As you probably already know, I am a leader of a local 501-C3 charitable organization known as the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire. Under the auspices of the ICRME, Mile High Comics has staged numerous charitable events over the past three years, raising approximately $50,000 for a diverse group of registered charities, including The Denver Rescue Mission, Rainbow Alley, The Denver Children's Advocacy Center, Urban Peak, and several more.

While I have greatly enjoyed this past year, my appointment as Prince Royale 42 of the ICRME will be expiring in five weeks, which would normally mean the end of my fundraising career. That may not turn out to be the case, however, as our good friend, Norrie Reynolds, has chosen to throw her hat into the ring for this year's election for Empress, which is the top leadership position in the ICRME. You may have already met Norrie, as she has been the #1 volunteer at our numerous Jason St. charitable events. Simply put, if Norrie can win this year's ICRME Empress election, she has promised to help Mile High Comics in continuing to host auctions, poker games, autograph parties, and other charitable events under the auspices of the ICRME.

Given that I very much want to have the ICRME helping us with (at the least) staging our Free Comic Book Day festivities and our Denver Comic-Con party, I am going all-out to help Norrie win this year's Empress election. This process is made quite challenging by the longstanding rules of the ICRME, however, which allow anyone over the age of 16 to vote in the ICRME election as long as they live in the northern part of Colorado (draw a line from Castle Rock to our state borders on the east and west), and have a current Colorado photo ID. That increases the pool of potential voters in our elections from just the 500 active members of the ICRME, to over two million people!

In case you are wondering, the reasoning behind having this wide open electorate is that our annual elections are the one time in each calendar year when we are all strongly encouraged to help members of the general public become aware of the good deeds performed by members of the ICRME. In a nutshell, asking non-members to vote in our elections encourages those of us working for candidates to explain about the goals and achievements of the ICRME to a great many people who previously had no idea that we even exist. I personally had no part in creating this policy, but upon reflection, it definitely makes sense.

All of the above having been said, the ICRME also has a history of candidates offering election inducements to sway votes in their favor, so to help to get Norrie elected I have put together our own array of fun prizes:

First, anyone who votes for Norrie on March 19th will be given a choice of either receiving an immediate $50 credit memo valid at any of our store, or a special certificate that can be redeemed on Saturday, May 1st for a complete set! of the 2016 Free Comic Book Day Comics. We ordered only enough of this year's FCBD editions to build 75 complete sets, which we suspect will all be allocated on election day. The only restriction on this offer is that the $50 credit memo we're offering can only be used for items at full price, without the benefit of any additional discounts or sales. Our $50 credit offer is open to anyone over 16 who votes, however, so bringing family members (or friends) to vote for Norrie is strongly encouraged.

Second, everyone who votes for Norrie on March 19th will be entered into a special election drawing. The prizes that I am putting up for this drawing are incredible! Here is the list:

2-3) SET OF TWO DEALER'S PASSES TO DENVER COMIC-CON 2016

Second and Third prizes are two sets of dealer badges to this year's Denver Comic-Con. The same one hour per day work requirement applies, but that should not be any kind of big deal. All you'll be doing for an hour is helping us watch for shoplifters.

4) STAR WARS (2016) #1-6 MILE HIGH VARIANT S&N SET

The fourth prize in our drawing is a set of #1-#6 our Mile High Comics STAR WARS variant editions, all signed by artist Humberto Ramos! We sell these rare collectibles for $495.00, and they are limited to only 200 sets, worldwide.

5) HARLEY QUINN SAN DIEGO EDITION (2015) statue

We managed to obtain an extra HARLEY QUINN SAN DIEGO EDITION (2015) statue, so we are giving that away as prize #5. Retail value $249.95

6) PRINCESS LEIA #1-#5 MILE HIGH VARIANT SET

A complete set of our Mile High Comics STAR WARS: PRINCESS LEIA #1-#5 Variant Editions

7) SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1 MILE HIGH COVER S&N

A Mile High Comics variant edition of SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1, signed by J.Scott Campbell.

8) SECRET WARS (2015) #1-8 MILE HIGH COVER SET

A complete set of our Mile High Comics SECRET WARS #1-#8 variant editions

9) FIVE DEADPOOL MILE HIGH VARIANTS

A set of all five of our Mile High Comics DEADPOOL variant editions

10) STAR WARS #7-#12 "Ships" variants

A set of our Mile High Comics STAR WARS #7-#12 "Ships" variants

All of these prizes will be given out as soon as the election pools close, at approximately 6:30 on Saturday evening, March 19th. If you win a prize that you already have, you can opt to choose a different prize, as long as it is of equal, or lesser, value.

My last detail about the March 19th ICRME election is that we are in the process of setting up private bus transportation to the voting center at Cheeseman Park from all three of our store locations. I will release our bus schedule in Tuesday's newsletter. The trip from Jason St. to the polls is only about 20 minutes, and it takes less than a minute to vote. You can also drive yourself to the voting center, as we will have a representative there to issue credits and to register you for the drawing.

Happy Collecting!
