Benefit 50% Off Comics Sale Begins Today - Codeword SUPERBOWL50
Howdy!
As those of you who follow the NFL can probably well imagine, the city of Denver is still
celebrating our Bronco's victory in yesterday's Super Bowl! I was blessed to be able to
watch the game at friend's home, with 20 other enthusiastic Bronco fans. All in all, I thought
the game turned out to be quite entertaining. My congratulations go out to all Carolina Panthers
fans, as I thought that your team played with great talent and heart. But for a couple of lucky
breaks, the game could just as easily have been won by your team. I am certain that the Panthers
will be playing for the championship again, very soon.
MILE HIGH CHARITY AUCTION
A nice sidebar to the big game was a bet on the outcome initiated by Shelton Drum, the owner of
the wonderful
Heroes Aren't Hard to Find
comics store in Charlotte, North Carolina. Late last
week, Shelton suggested to me that we both create an auction on eBay, with the proceeds of the
losing team's auction going to the charity of the winning team's choice. I chose the
Denver Rescue Mission
as our charity, and since the Bronco's won, Shelton will be making a donation to them equal to
the results of his
auction.
While we won the bet, my true goal was always to help the homeless,
so we will be donating the proceeds of our
auction,
too.
HEROES AREN'T HARD TO FIND CHARITY AUCTION
All of the above having been said, the thought occurred to me this morning that some of the
readers of this newsletter might want to join us in contributing to this very worthy cause.
With that thought in mind, I am going to offer you a new 50% off SUPERBOWL50! codeword this morning
on all of our
back issue comics and magazines.
Only new comics, a few variants, and our CGC's are
excluded. If you utilize the SUPERBOWL50! codeword to place any back issue order with us over the
next seven days, we will contribute 10% of your net purchase amount to the
Denver Rescue Mission.
Your contribution will be very much appreciated, as this great civic organization helps not only
the traditional homeless, but also a shocking number of families with young children who have fallen
on hard times.
In other news, Pam is continuing to grade the 500+ 1950's and 1960's
DELL,
GOLD KEY,
Archie,
Harvey, and
Charlton
comics that I located in a locked room at our warehouse last week. Keep and eye on our
New-In-Stock
link throughout this week to see all of the new listings.
New-In-Stock
is typically updated for
you at about noon each day.
I will close today's newsletter with a quick mention that the DEADPOOL movie is already garnering
rave reviews from the earliest showings. It is extremely violent and adult, however, so I do not
recommend it for kids. So you know, we have created five different Mile High Comics DEADPOOL
variant editions
over the past two years, all with tiny print runs. We will be publicizing our variants heavily via social
media this week, and expect to be selling quite a few variants once the movie releases on Friday. Picking
them up from us earlier in the week is probably a good idea. I have a gut feeling that demand for all
DEADPOOL back issues
is about to spike...
DEADPOOL (2012) #30 Only $39.95 each
DEADPOOL (2015) #1 Only $39.95 each
DEADPOOL (2015) #2 Only $39.95 each
